Laurie Covieo grew up in the Bay City area. She moved to Brighton just before her junior year of high school. She graduated from Brighton High School and has been a resident of the area ever since. Laurie began her college journey at Washtenaw Community College, initially pursuing nursing, but shifted her focus to Criminal Justice and obtained her 2 year degree and went on to Wayne State to continue her studies. In terms of her career, Laurie spent 9 years working for Taco Bell and 26 years with Burger King, excelling in fast food management. Though she found success in the industry, she is thrilled with her decision to leave fast food and join Dexter Builders! She is especially excited about the new opportunities that weekends and holidays off will bring, allowing for more time with her loved ones, camping, and enjoying life to the fullest.
Laurie has a deep passion for travel, with a personal motto: "If I haven't been there before, I'm ready to go!" She and her family frequently travel to Key West and the Phoenix area, and she enjoys camping in their 5th-wheel trailer and spending time boating on the lake near her home. As an avid reader, Laurie enjoys books by authors like John Sanford, Patricia Briggs, James Patterson, and Jonathan Kellerman. Family is incredibly important to Laurie. She has a huge family, with eight brothers and sisters, including six step-siblings, with ages ranging from 36 to 77 years old. She and her sister Kristen were both adopted, and she makes trips to visit family often. Laurie is also preparing for an exciting new chapter in her life, as she is getting married on the beach in Key West this October. She feels incredibly blessed to be marrying into a family that has embraced her from the start.
